Dr Marguerite Barnard is a specialist vascular surgeon based at Cintocare Private Hospital in Menlyn, Pretoria, a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art surgical centre of excellence. She provides precise treatment in a compassionate environment and values getting to know her patients and their families, understanding their unique needs.
 

She completed her vascular surgery training at the University of the Witwatersrand and is proud to be the first female vascular surgeon to graduate from Wits. Her medical degree was obtained at Stellenbosch University where she received the Rector’s Award of Excellence.  She completed general surgery at the University of Pretoria, where her MMed was obtained cum laude. Her clinical interests include aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, aortic and carotid pathology. She also recently furthered her training at a world‑renowned aortic centre of excellence in Larissa, Greece.
 

Recognized for both academic and clinical excellence, Dr Barnard has received the Discovery Clinical Excellence Award at the Surgical Association of South Africa Conference  and best oral presentation at the Panhellenic Vascular Conference in Greece. 
Together with her team, she believes in building long‑term relationships with patients, families, and referring doctors, and providing holistic vascular care over time.
